February in Review

In an effort to remember my most favorite parts of 2016, I've decided to document each month as they pass. Enjoy!

February in Review | ashleyjoanna.com

Here’s what happened:

  • Watched Apple Guy run a marathon
  • Finally hung a gallery wall above my desk that I’m obsessed with
  • Ran 12.1 miles
  • Got fitted for new running shoes
  • Signed up for a 5K (my. first. race. ever.)
  • Started branding my new business with The Business Bar
  • Swooned over brand images taken by the lovely Photo By Betsy
  • Donated 4 trash bags of clothing thanks to a Saturday spent with Marie Kondo
  • Enjoyed pockets of time off from nannying
  • Surprised & spent time with my family for a week
  • Listened to podcasts constantly
  • Discovered my love for tea and adorable tea pots
  • Watched the Oscars and ate the coolest Leonardo Dicupcakes

A little Ashley Joanna PSA:

2015 was a year of major discipline, blogging every weekday. Going into 2016, I knew that blogging would look different for me. Previously I mentioned that I wanted to blog every Tuesday and Thursday this year, but in all reality it hasn’t happened.

But you know what’s the coolest thing about blogging? You make your own decisions. So I’m rewriting my plan for the year. For right now, I’m letting myself not have a plan. And since it’s cool with the Boss (aka me), it’s cool with me!

But no fear, I’ll still be around sharing tidbits of a life of an 20something with a few unconventional dreams.

Some Pandas for your Wednesday

I have no idea how it happened, but the panda emoji is the most used emoji between Apple Guy and I.

Recently we’ve been sending panda pictures & videos to each other throughout the day and it’s been absolutely one of my favorite things.

To get you through this Wednesday, here a few of my recent favorite pandas.

Pandas, Just because

This guy and these guys are the best.

Podcast Love | February

In any given week I listen to at least 10 podcasts. At least.

I’m constantly sending episodes to my people, telling them what they need to listen ASAP and wanting the whole world to know how wonderful the world of podcasting is.

Podcast Love | February

So without further ado, here are my podcast picks of February!

STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW
Episode: Operation Mincemeat: How A Corpse Fooled the Nazis
Not normally a war history buff, this right here is as interesting as The Imitation Game. In fact, they’re actually connected.

GASTROPOD
Episode: The End of the Calorie
Pretty sure I never truly understood the science behind the measurement of the much agonized over ‘calorie.’ And now we’re not even sure if it’s an accurate measurement? Cue the drama & intrigue.

THE LIVELY SHOW
Episode: A $250,000 Productivity Habit to Get Important Stuff Done with Alex Ikonn
Okay this title is total cheeseballs in my opinion, BUT I have an entrepreneurial crush on Alex Ikonn and loved his previous episode. Also, productivity and habits are totally on my brain these days. Oh and also, Jess is probably my favorite podcast interviewer like ever.

PLANET MONEY
Episode: Anatomy Of A Scam
Need a quick podcast to join you on your errands around town? Planet Money is always an interesting and enlightening fave. This episode in particular fired me up and made me want to call important people all at the same time.

BEING BOSS
Episode: Managing Clients
Being a new Boss myself, I totally look up to Kathleen and Emily and this episode on managing clients (not letting them manage you) is helping me in the formation of my own business.

AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN
Episode: 8 Glasses of Water a Day? Humbug! Dr. Aaron Carroll Debunks This and Other Modern Health Myths
Gosh I love this cheesy food podcast. That is all.

Take a listen and let me know what your favorites are!
