Looking back at my running journey in the last year, I’ve definitely had some ups & downs (as with most things in life).
Here’s what I know:
It’s not about a pace
It’s not about a race
It’s not about a time
t’s not about a distance
It’s alllllll about consistency
I feel my best physical self when I take the time to hit the pavement, 2-3 times a week.
And sometimes I forget that.
So instead of waiting until 2016 to make this a priority again, I’ve started now, on this 3rd week of December by scheduling 3 runs a week into my schedule. And actually running.
I’m tracking my runs, working to get stronger each time, increase my pace, go longer distances, and eventually run a race. But always remembering that consistency is the most important factor in this journey.
Introspective time: isn’t that true for most things in life?
Want to be a writer? Write consistently.
Want to be well read? Read consistently.
Want to be a maker? Make consistently.
Want to laugh more? Watch The Office bloopers consistently.
Food for thought, I guess.
What do you need to remind yourself to do consistently?
