the quest for a fiction book

One evening at dinner with Apple Guy I blurted out that we needed to find the nearest Barnes & Noble bookstore.

The Goldfinch

Because I wanted a fiction book.

I wanted to keep it on my nightstand, carry it with me in my purse, read it while outside with Woz, hold the weighty book in my hand [not device] and be entranced in a story.

After a solid 30 minutes of me walking each isle, holding countless books on coding and food and people in my hands, and carrying a few select books I left with just one:

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.

I didn't fall in love with it right away. In fact, I'm only 100 pages [of 775] in at this point.

But I'm committing to reading and finishing this book this summer. And that itself is worth noting and celebrating in my book.

What books are on your nightstand? Any to recommend after I finish The Goldfinch?
